In accordance with the management's directive, a working group was established to assess the demand for student dormitories at the Uzbekistan-Finland Pedagogical Institute. The institute currently has 4 student dormitories with a total capacity of 1,180 beds. For the current academic year, the demand for dormitories was studied, and in addition to the existing dormitories, the department responsible for coordinating student accommodation has compiled a database of over 1,025 rental apartments.
The dormitories have undergone routine maintenance and are fully prepared to receive students. Specifically, the dormitories have been equipped with wardrobes, tables and chairs, beds, and bedding supplies. They include 25 kitchens, 3 libraries, 2 halls for cultural and educational events, 2 sports rooms, 12 laundry and ironing rooms, over 26 shower rooms, and restrooms — all ready for use.
Measures have been taken to ensure compliance with sanitary-hygienic and fire safety regulations and to guarantee student safety. Disinfection has been carried out, and fire extinguishing equipment has undergone technical inspection. The dormitories are equipped with engineering and communication systems, and utility payments are made on time. Showers, restrooms, classrooms, libraries, and the gym are fully prepared for students. Clubs based on the “Five Initiatives” program have been launched.
Educator-mentors have developed activity plans for the academic year, which have been approved by the administration. Their operations have been organized in all 4 dormitories. A decree on student placement was issued by the rector of the institute, based on which a working group was formed. A dormitory placement procedure has been developed and followed to ensure transparency. Furthermore, female members of the working group have specifically addressed the issue of allocating accommodation to female students.
Priority in dormitory placement is given to full orphans, students who have lost their breadwinner, low-income families, those listed in the “Iron Book,” students with disabilities of Groups I and II, families with two or more children studying on a contract basis, and first-year students.
The monthly dormitory fee was set by the University Council at 175,000 UZS. According to the rector’s decree, 161 students from vulnerable social groups (including visually impaired students with Group I and II disabilities, full orphans, children from orphanages, and low-income students) have been exempted from payment.
