Duties of the head of the department:
- Conscientious performance of one's official duties;
- Observance of labor discipline, timely and quality execution of orders and instructions of the employer in accordance with the law;
- Treating the property of the institution with care and using it wisely;
- To have good relations with the members of the institution's team and other persons who come in contact with them in the course of work, to observe the dress code;
- Participation in the discussion and resolution of issues related to the activity of the department at the institution level;
- Approval of the work plan of the department, personal work plans of professors and employees, and other documents within the scope of the department's activities;
- Distribution of educational workloads to the teaching staff of the department and control of their timely and high-quality performance;
- To ensure that pedagogic personnel are recruited to the department on a competitive basis, to motivate them materially and morally, as well as to submit proposals to the management of the Higher Education Institution in the prescribed manner on the application of disciplinary measures;
- To require the relevant service units of the Higher Education Institution to provide the necessary conditions for conducting the educational and scientific-research process at the level of demand;
- Preparation of the report of the department on the activities of the academic year in the specified order and time, reporting at the meetings of the Scientific Council;
- To carry out scientific and research works in accordance with the approved plan, to ensure the integration of completed scientific and research works with education, science and production;
- Reviewing the educational, scientific-methodical, scientific-research, spiritual-educational and organizational-methodical work of the teachers of the department in their personal work plans, studying the activities of experienced teachers, summarizing, advanced organization of activities aimed at popularizing their experiences;
- Introducing modern pedagogical and information and communication technologies, helping young teachers who have started to engage in pedagogical activities in acquiring pedagogical qualifications and skills, creating an information base, using modern educational and technical tools in training sessions, individual to establish the effective use of methods of teaching and independent learning, to make proposals for organizing teaching in special classrooms equipped with modern computer equipment, to implement the development of elements of distance learning ;
- Training of scientific and pedagogical personnel, discussion of candidacy and doctoral theses in scientific seminars on specialties corresponding to the specialty of the department, participation in expert groups on determining the compliance of educational documents with standard requirements;
- Establishing contacts with production enterprises and other enterprises for the purpose of assigning graduates to work, formulating topics for graduation qualification work, master's thesis, attracting extra-budgetary funds, as well as providing scientific and technical support;
- Organization of regular contacts with the higher education institution and interns-researchers-researchers of this department, monitoring of graduates;
- Conducting events aimed at improving the qualifications of specialists in the specialty of the department, developing the system of providing educational services;
- Taking into account the interests of students, organizing clubs on various topics, directions and specializations, types of professions, carrying out activities aimed at occupying students' free time with productive and useful work in small enterprises;
- Ensuring the complete and high-quality conduct of laboratory work in the subjects taught at the department, as well as wide involvement of sponsors in providing the department's laboratories with modern equipment, devices and equipment;
- Continuous monitoring of the continuous replenishment and updating of the information-resource center of the Higher Education Institution with new educational, scientific-technical and periodical literature related to the educational directions and specialties of the department;
- Conducting the specified types of training in the subjects of the curricula compiled in accordance with the state educational standards of higher education at a high theoretical, scientific-methodical and professional level, ensuring the quality of education;
- Supervision of students' professional practice, course projects (works), graduation qualification works, master's dissertations, as well as independent works and scientific research works;
- Implementation of rating control of students' knowledge, organization of activities of students outside the auditorium;
- Training of highly qualified competitive personnel who meet high moral and ethical requirements at the level of developed democratic countries;
- Development of educational programs for the department's subjects and submitting them for approval in the prescribed manner, as well as preparing reviews and conclusions for educational programs prepared by related departments;
- Preparation of textbooks, educational, methodological and demonstration manuals, reprinted textbooks, training manuals and teaching-methodical literature, including summaries of literature created in co-authorship with foreign scientists;
- Regularly conduct and improve the comparative analysis of DTS, curricula and programs with the educational programs of developed foreign countries according to the department's directions and specialties;
- Selection of talented students and their training, preparation for participation in Olympiads and contests, including "Talent" fund and state grant contests, taking measures to improve the forms and methods of independent work of students;
- To organize the scientific and creative activities of students on a systematic basis, to identify talented students and involve them in scientific research, to teach them to perform scientific and research works individually and as a team, to implement their scientific and creative activities, necessary organizational, methodological and creation of material and technical conditions;
- Exercising other obligations and rights established by labor legislation;
- The head of the department conducts events with the participation of embassies, foreign organizations and representatives of foreign countries through higher organizations in accordance with the procedure established by the higher organizations with the decision of the Council of International Relations or, as an exception, on the basis of the order of the rector.
