The faculty of art studies
The Faculty of Art Studies was first established in 1969 as the Department of Music and singing at the faculty of uzbek language and literature of the former Samarkand state pedagogical Institute named after Sadriddin Aini. Over the years, the department expanded, and in 1982 became the faculty of "music education".In 1992,in connection with the merge of the former Samarkand State Pedagogical Institute named after Sadriddin Aini to Samarkand State University ,the Faculty of Music Education continued to operate under the auspices of the university. The period after the 2000s were a period of creative work and achievement for the faculty. The theatre-studio "Ilkhom" of the university, consisting of students of the Faculty of Music Education, participated in the competition among higher educational institutions of the republic, organized by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education in 2001 with the play "Bekhbudi'',took 2nd place, at the festival of Uzbek folk art and traditions "Treasure-2003" with the work "Foreign Groom", 3rd place in the republic, at the festival "Nikhol-2004" participated with the play "Source of Mercy" and took 1st place in the republic, participated in the festival of Uzbek folk art and traditions "Treasure-2005" with the play "Al-iksir-soul ointment", took the 3rd place in the republic, took part in the festival of theatrical art "Nikhol-2006" with the play "Example of bees" and took the 1st place in the republic. In the same year this faculty took part in the competition of the folk festival "Living Traditions" with the work of "Oktov moonlight", took 3rd place in the country, and in 2007 with the work "Sogdian holiday". , won the Grand- Pri in the republic. On November 10, 2008, the Faculty of Professional Education and the Faculty of Music Education merged into the Faculty of Art History. All of this is a practical endeavor on a broad path to spiritual perfection. After all, any event aimed at increasing the level of spirituality and enlightenment will serve as a reliable and solid foundation for our further development. In 2008, at the initiative of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, our students took part in an event in Karshi with the performance "Bakhshi Bayoti" and won first place in the republic.The choir "Guldasta" organized by the faculty in 2008-2017 annually participated in the song contests "Uzbekistan - my homeland", "You are the only one, the holy homeland", "Living traditions" ,“ You are my homeland ”,“ My homeland ”,“ Remembrance of the homeland ”,“ Dear Motherland ”and won I-II-III places and Grand-Pri awards in the republic. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M.Mirziyoyev at a video conference on March 19, 2019 had put forward an important initiative. As a practical implementation of the first initiative, which serves to increase the interest of young people in music, painting, theatre and other arts, to reveal their talents, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education on the basis of the decision of the rector of Samarkand State University No. 404 of May 2, 2019 "On the establishment of The Faculty of Art Studies was reorganized on the basis of the following directions In 2019, as part of the "5 important initiatives", "Dear Uzbekistan, live forever!" Faculty students took part in the Republican Student Youth Festival under the motto "Youth is a supporter of honesty and respect for the law in the service of the country" in the nomination "Best Poster" in the Republican competition with diplomas and honorary certificates,2nd place in the online Republican competition "Alla -2020", 3rd place in the Republican Online Science Olympiad on "Pen, painting and sculpture", took a diploma of third degree and a certificate in the online drawing competition ''The Aral Sea in the eyes of children '' which was held by Karakalpak branch of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan. Within the framework of 5 important initiatives previously initiated by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, the first initiative is to increase the interest of young people in music, painting, literature, theatre and other arts,under the department of music education of the faculty, “Dutorchilar”, “Dilnavo” ensemble, “Vocal” ensemble, “Graphics”, “Young artists” , ''Design'' circles at the department of engineering graphics,''Skillful hands'',''Young carpenters'' circles at the department of General Technical Sciences and Technology.The club of "Applied Arts" was organized at the department. Today ,the faculty has a team which consists of 24 qualified professor teachers.The main goal of the faculty staffs, headed by Israil Khayriev, is to strengthen the love of young people for the country, their parents and life.
