In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 21, 2022 No. PP-289 “On measures to improve the quality of teacher education and further development of the activities of higher educational institutions that train teachers”, an important task in the higher education system is the training of competitive personnel, training based on modern innovative programs in accordance with international standards.
   Resolution No. 408 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 30, 2021 “on measures to organize the activities of the Uzbek-Finnish Pedagogical Institute” was adopted. In accordance with the decree of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 2, 2021, the “Faculty of Exact Natural Sciences and Physical Culture” was established at the Uzbek-Finnish Pedagogical Institute, covering the areas of mathematics and computer science, physics-astronomy, biology, chemistry, geography and physical culture, which functioned in the 2021-2023 academic year. 
   In accordance with the decision of the Academic Council of the Uzbek-Finnish Pedagogical Institute No. 9 dated July 3, 2023, the activities of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Physics were organized. This faculty has a bachelor's degree in the specialty:

60110600 – mathematics and computer science,

60110700 – methods of teaching physics and astronomy,

70110601 - methods of teaching exact and natural sciences (mathematics)

70110602-information technologies in education,

70110701-methods of teaching exact and natural sciences (mathematics).

Also, highly qualified specialists - masters in the fields (physics and astronomy) are being trained.

The faculty has departments of “Mathematics and Computer Science”, “Physics-astronomy”, which employ a team consisting of 47 qualified professors-teachers.

Since August 12, 2023, the faculty has been headed by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Abdullaev Abubakir Narzullayevich.
