“Meeting of Leaders and Youth” Held at Samarkand State Pedagogical Institute on the Occasion of Youth Day
A “Meeting of Leaders and Youth” dedicated to Youth Day was held at Samarkand State Pedagogical Institute.
The event was attended by Deputy Governor of Samarkand Region Xusan To‘xtayev, Director of the Regional Narcology Center Nargiza Kenjayeva, Head of the Department of the Regional Criminal Investigation Directorate O‘tkirbek Gulyamov, Road Traffic Safety Department Information Service specialist Xurshid Safarov, representatives of the institute administration, and students.
At the beginning of the event, Deputy Governor Xusan To‘xtayev became acquainted with startup projects developed by talented students of the institute. He also held an open dialogue with young people, sharing his managerial experience, the challenges he encountered throughout his life, and the achievements he attained.
Afterwards, Director of the Regional Narcology Center Nargiza Kenjayeva provided students with detailed information about the harmful consequences of drug addiction and psychotropic substances, as well as the damage these problems cause to human health and society.
During the meeting, O‘tkirbek Gulyamov, Head of the Department of the Regional Criminal Investigation Directorate, also delivered a speech, emphasizing that the involvement of young people in drug trafficking and intermediary activities related to the distribution of narcotic substances has been increasing in recent years. Through real-life examples, he explained that strict legal liability and punishment measures exist for such illegal actions.
In addition, Xurshid Safarov, specialist of the Information Service of the Regional Road Traffic Safety Department, noted the growing number of traffic violations, especially cases involving young people driving vehicles without proper licenses, which often lead to road accidents. Students were given preventive recommendations on following safety precautions both while driving and walking as pedestrians.
🧾 At the end of the event, students who won the competition titled “Combating Drug and Psychotropic Substance Abuse Among Students and Youth” were awarded.
