The Grand Opening Ceremony of the CAVA Men’s and Women’s Universiade Games – 2026 Held in Samarkand
The grand opening ceremony of the international CAVA Men’s and Women’s Universiade Games – 2026, organized on the initiative of the Central Asian Volleyball Association, was held at a high level in the city of Samarkand.
Student teams from several countries of the region are participating in the competition. Exciting matches are expected between both men’s and women’s teams.
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Sports Shaxrillo Maxmudov, Head of the Samarkand Regional Department of Internal Affairs Toxir Aripov, Deputy Governor of the region for Youth Policy and Social Development Xusen To‘xtayev, Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan Volleyball Federation Jamshid Fayziyev, Rector of the Samarkand State Pedagogical Institute Shahzoda Negmatova, as well as other distinguished guests.
🏐 As part of the third match in the men’s competition, Uzbekistan’s SamSPI team competed against the Tajikistan national team and secured a 3:2 victory.
