Corruption is currently one of the most pressing global issues that must be eliminated. This phenomenon seriously undermines the political and economic development of any state and society, and leads to violations of human rights and freedoms. Therefore, combating corruption has gained international importance and has become one of the key priorities of global policy.
🇺🇿 The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his Address to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan on December 26, 2025, emphasized: “Allowing corruption is a betrayal of our reforms. In 2026, we will declare a ‘state of emergency’ in the fight against this evil.”
Today, systematic and effective measures are being implemented in the higher education system to prevent corruption risks and eliminate the factors contributing to this issue.
In particular, a meeting was held today under the leadership of the Rector of Samarkand State Pedagogical Institute, Professor Shahzoda Negmatova, with the participation of faculty members and staff, where ongoing efforts to prevent corruption risks at the institution were thoroughly discussed. During the meeting, the Head of the Anti-Corruption Compliance Control Department, Samariddin Bobomurodov, presented a report on this area.
During the discussions, it was emphasized that unity and solidarity of the team are key factors in combating corruption. It was noted that only through collective efforts and a firm stance can this issue be eradicated at its roots.
