ABOUT THE FACULTY
Ensuring the implementation of the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to further develop the field of pedagogical education" dated February 27, 2020 No. PD-4623, as well as competitive personnel for the field of pedagogical education for the purpose of training, improving the quality of education, introducing the advanced educational technologies of Finland in the field, establishing an effective system of training highly qualified specialists with the skills of using modern knowledge and pedagogical technologies, Resolution No. 408 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 30, 2021 "On measures to organize the activities of the Uzbek-Finnish Pedagogical Institute of Samarkand State University" was adopted.
According to the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PD-289 dated June 21, 2022, Uzbek-Finnish Pedagogical Institute began to operate as a separate higher education institution.
Based on the decision of the Scientific Council of the Uzbek-Finnish Pedagogical Institute No. 9 dated July 3, 2023, the Faculty of Languages was established under the name of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Humanities in 2021. In 2023, the Faculty was renamed with the name "Philology". In 2024, it was reorganized under the name of "Languages" faculty.
• In the 2021-2022 academic year, associate professor Abdullaeva Albina Suratovna, in the 2022-2023 academic year, associate professor Normuminov Sherzod Tuychievich, in the 2023-2024 academic year, associate professor Fayziev Mirzaali Asfandiyorovich worked as a dean.
• Since September 4, 2024 (PhD), Utaeva Iroda Bakhodirovna has been working as a dean.
The faculty of languages is a team that has scientific potential and works tirelessly on itself. Currently, a total of 1598 students are studying at the faculty.
The faculty has 3 departments:
- "Uzbek language and literature" department,
- "Russian language and literature" department,
- "Foreign languages" department.
More than 80 qualified professors-teachers are working in these departments today.
Clubs are organized under each department at the faculty. In the "Happy English" club (80 students) based on teaching foreign languages under the department of foreign languages, in the "Lingvists" club (45 students) under the department of Russian language and literature, in the "Изящная словесность" club (80 students), clubs such as "Yogdu" and "Young linguist" are operating under the department of Uzbek language and literature. Also, the faculty has 146 students who have certificates of national or international assessment systems for foreign languages.
The faculty has approved an annual work plan for work with youth and systematic implementation of spiritual-educational and educational work, meaningful organization of students' free time, strengthening of their ideological immunity, in order to protect against spiritual and ideological threats, to create a healthy spiritual environment in the faculty, the activities of "Zakovat", "Discussion-debate", "Kitobxonlik", "Quvnoqlar va zukkolar", "Student theater studio" have been launched. In addition, promotion of national values and traditions, rich cultural heritage of our ancestors, celebration of national holidays, historical dates, propaganda work in mass media, spiritual and educational works conducted with students living in student residences and private apartments, activities are carried out in various fields, such as social protection measures. Work is being carried out to identify gifted young people among students studying at the faculty and to prepare them for science Olympiads and state scholarships.
The main goal of the spiritual and educational work carried out at the faculty is to educate students in the spirit of loyalty to national and universal values, to expand their spiritual and aesthetic outlook, to raise their thinking, to protect them from all kinds of mass attacks, to turn them away from these paths,it is to form a true devotee of Uzbekistan.
The faculty prepares bachelors in the following fields of study:
- 60111400 – Uzbek language and literature;
- 60111700 – Mother tongue and literature (Russian language);
- 60111800 – Bachelor of Foreign Language and Literature,
7011140 - training of master's specialists in Uzbek language and literature specialties has been launched.
The faculty has been leading in the training of high-potential, qualified personnel for the educational system of our Republic, making a worthy contribution to the social-economic, scientific-pedagogical development of our country. In particular, in our republic, it closely supports the development of the necessary literature for the fields of mother tongue and literature, Russian language and literature, foreign language education, regulatory documents, and improving the skills of school teachers.
